Wrap-up: The Blogcademy

I was pretty anti-the glittery ears. It’s not my style and the headbands looked painful. I was skeptical of selfies and concerned that the content wouldn’t be directly relevant to me. What did I really want to learn and take away from this weekend anyway?

Stepping away, I gained something great: the inspiration and energy that comes along with a weekend surrounded by passionate, creative, weird-ass women.

I sat in my cozy Airbnb (Elle was a wonderful host) after our first day and really had a stare-down with the glittery ears. I realized that, for me, it’s not about just wearing ears, it’s about finding something to make yourself stand out and having the courage to “wear” it – whether it’s physical, emotional, or mental. To realize that I am different and I have something to tell the world – and I know there are people in the world who want to listen. Needless to say, I wore the ears on Day 2.

The women I met are ready to take the next step in their lives and are investing in themselves – something we often forget to do. We were all at turning points and ready to be heard.
I have 23 pages of notes saved very carefully in two Word documents and a brain full of information I can hardly even handle. I’m thinking about new colors, featured posts, collaborations, what my brand really means to me, and THE POWER OF A ROOM FULL OF EMPOWERED WOMEN.
What The Blogcademy teaches is important for so many reasons. I respect what Kat, Shauna, and Gala have put together and feel excited and honored to be a part of it. Ladies – thank you so much. Your world tours are so much more than teaching women the intricacies of blogging.
